In 2009 Patrick and Jesse joined forces to create Cairns first Kickboxing Fitness, Cross Training and Personal Training facility here at our Anderson Street location. With a small crew in the beginning of about 10 regular clients, many of whom are still with us today, we had a timetable of 8 classes and we worked hard to deliver the best group fitness classes we possibly could.

With Patrick and Jesse both being active fighters, it was a natural progression for us to expand our timetable and offer Muay Thai classes, so we expanded our studio and built Cairns best Muay Thai facility, which included one of the only full size boxing rings, weights area and a group fitness areas.

As the years passed and our community grew, we were again able to expand our studio and knock down more walls and we built our awesome dedicated Cross Training area and state of the art Boxing Bag rack which allowed us to continue to grow a community of awesome individuals who shared a passion for Muay Thai and Fitness.

After lots of hard work and dedication in 2018 Patrick took over as the sole owner of the gym and in 2019, after 10 years of trading under the name Destination Fitness,  Patrick gave the gym a facelift and rebranded from Destination Fitness to our DF.GYM brand you see today. We learned plenty of lessons through trial-and-error, and we’re still learning. We started from nothing and with the help of our awesome community we grew the gym into something we are very proud of today. We have found our place as one of Cairns biggest fitness communities and one of Cairns most successful Muay Thai gyms and with a timetable of approximately 30 classes per week for everyone from kids, to fitness enthusiast to professional fighters, we love that we have created an environment that is inclusive for all our members and visitors to be able to come and spend their time with us training hard and hanging out with our crew.
